Situated 12km West of Kemer in Güneşli-Gedelma environs, the well protected Byzantium castle has reached today. The castle was dated back to 9th century AD by Jacobek. The name refers to “the city of wheat Phrygos, the place of wheat drying, protecting, and a kind of wheat pit”. This place is a kind of storage-castle not only for Gedelma but for the entire region. The cave next to the castle is one of the attractive spots as well as the buttonwood tree, which is estimated to be 2500 years of age.
